Musikfesttage an der Oder

This festival comes with a long tradition: the »Frankfurt Festtage fr Musik« exist since 1966. It was created by the musical society »Carl Philipp Emaunuel Bach«. For many years now it does not only celebrate the works of the second Bach son, who studied in Frankfurt from 1734 1738: increasingly the festival includes working with musicians on the other side of the river Oder. It was therefore just as well that the »Frankfurter Festtage der Musik« were amalgamated with the »Musikbegegnungen Oat-West Zielona Gra«. Since then there is a German-Polish festival, the »Musikfesttage and der Oder«. The festival has already gained in status: internationally renowned artists perform here, as for example Krzysztof Penderecki, Rudolf Buchbinder, Baiba Skride, Ludwig Gttler, Bernhard Greenhouse and the Leipziger Streichquartett (string quartet). You can see the Brandenburg Staatsorchester, as well as the Philharmonie Zielona Gra or the Pommersche Philharmonie Bydgosz. The Singakademie (choir) of Frankfurt (Oder) also takes part. Venues for the various concerts apart from Frankfurt (Oder) are Slubice as well as Zielona Gra and other towns in the surrounding areas such as Eisenhttenstadt/Frstenberg, Neuzelle, Kozuchw and more.
