1. 750 years of history – experienced first hand
The focus of this tour are art treasures dating from the 14th century, four hundred year old profane and modern buildings as well as the newly designed Oder Promenade along the border river, the Oder.


2. The Twin Town – old, but still young
Answers to the exciting question: how do Germans – Polish and students from over 70 countries live at the beginning of the third millennium and how to they cooperate?


3. The University Town – 500 years of Viadrina
What do the former and the present University have in common? You can experience 400 years of University history at historical places and a thematically short tour in the Museum Viadrina.


4. The Kleiststadt and its poets
Places, sculptures and other objects of art in the city centre area remind us of Ewald and Heinrich von Kleist, Gottfried Benn and others. A short tour of the Kleistmuseum successfully concludes this tour.


5. Garrison Town yesterday – Conversion today
The transformation of military buildings for civil use is a visual basis for the peaceful cooperation in the Twin Town at the Oder.


6. A guided tour through Slubfurt, the first polish - german city at the Oder river
We will start our walk through both parts of Slubfurt city at the main railway station in Furt, passing the
so called "bat hill" and the old cinema from socialist times to reach the second piece of our city wall. We are

7. Frankfurt at the Oder
From a small market settlement at the narrowest point of the Oder valley to the »old and commendable« town in the 13th century and richest town of Brandenburg, Frankfurt at the Oder develops. A separated town since 1945, Border Town, Bridge Town, Twin town. Town of trade and of the Hanseatic League. Town of the 500-year-old University Viadrina (even if there is a 195 year long interval).


8. Frankfurt an der Oder, Kirche St. Marien
The largest hall church in Northern German Brick gothic; a place of worship, developed
over centuries, is a display of Frankfurt’s wide ranging cultural and trade connections
and of German history. A burnt down ruin at the end of the Second World War; it has been

9. Garrison and Fortifications in Frankfurt (Oder)
The town became a military base in 1669 with the creation of a local army. Well known
personalities, officers, military leaders, Prussian reformers, but also resistance fighters
of National Socialism have started their »career« at the Frankfurt garrison. A ring of barracks

10. Church St Gertraud
The neo-gothic building is the place of worship and parish hall of the amalgamated parishes of St Marien and St Gertraud. The sacral treasure of St Marien, the Renaissance Altar, the bronze Christening font and the 5 metre tall bronze candelabra, which both are richly decorated with biblical scenes, are all displayed at the St Gertraud church.


11. The old and the new Frankfurt (Oder)
Experience significant architectural changes from the year of 1945 until today. In the town centre and the most important part of the Oder promenade buildings from the Middle Ages until today are explained.


12. The green Kleist town Frankfurt (Oder)
The Lennépark, the most significant public park in Frankfurt. It is one of the oldest public parks in Germany, situated in the centre of the town. It is a starting point for a leisurely walks through historic and modern parks, past historical structures and artefacts, to the isle of Ziegenwerder along the Oder promenade with a view of the former embankment suburb of Frankfurt, the Polish Slubice.
