A one day trip around the »Ziemia Lubuska« (Poland)

Our trip starts in Slubfurt, the first polish-german city, consisting of two districts, Slub(ice) and (Frank)furt. Our bus is going to bring us first to Slonsk, where after visiting the old church and huge ruins from a former castle of the Knights of St. John of Jerusalem, we enter the nature reserve of the Warta river to take a little walk in a beautiful landscape. After lunch we continue direction Lagw passing Osno Lubuskie and Sulecin. Lagw is a small town from the Middle Ages, dominated by a big lake district and another former castle of the Knights of St. John of Jerusalem, where we are going to have tea time after a small walk around. On our way back we pass Torzym, Rzepin and Kunowice, a village well known as a bloody battlefield, when in 1759 the Prussian and the Russian army fought with each other. If you?ll have got still enough energy, we might pay a visit to the old stadium, the former Jewish cemetery and the Slubfurt City Wall.
